A Message from the Lay Director of Walk 78

September 16th, 2018

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

It is my privilege to be used by God in Walk #78, to form a group of God-loving ladies from different churches and denominations, to come together with one common goal — that is to serve our pilgrims who have the desire to be active in their faith and be an influence in the environment which they are part of.

Walking into Tao Fong Shan, where we will spend our 3-day walk together, I was once again reminded and humbled by God’s provision of the beauty of this world. Today, many of us may find constant issues in our internal and external systems; yet God speaks as we listen to Him, and He shows us a path towards His glory when we learn to love like Jesus.

I pray that our time together will draw us closer with Christ and with other Christians so the fire that burns in such coals will make us shine God’s light wherever He sends us.

When I was selecting our team verse, I was asking God how we can live, serve and lead with discernment in the midst of such a complex environment we are in, how we can take heart when there are so many hurts out there which are beyond our reach, and how we can resist so many distractions and temptations. — may God show us which ones are the tree of life vs. tree of knowledge. Then I remembered that God sees through all things; not also so, He came to us so He is with us throughout yesterday, today and tomorrow.

So may I share this verse, which has given our team tremendous encouragement to walk humbly and courageously together for God and our pilgrims —

He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. (Colossians 1:17)

May God use Walk #78 exactly the way He delights. Please pray for us, with us for the walk and for the pilgrims that God will call.

To Him be the glory!

De Colores,

Jannie Tam
