Letter from Men’s Lay Directors, Walk #73, October 26-29

October 5th, 2017

Dear Walk to Emmaus Community,

When you walk down the street, do you see Jesus’ face in others for the first time? Do others see Jesus’ face in you? Do they see Jesus in your actions? The Walk to Emmaus presents an opportunity for pilgrims to see and experience Jesus in new ways and often for the first time. The vision of the three Lay Directors who have come together for Walk to Emmaus #73 is based on Revelation 4:1-2…

The Throne in Heaven:
After this I looked, and there before me was a door standing open in heaven.
And the voice I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet said,
“Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.”
At once I was in the Spirit, and there before me was a throne in heaven with someone sitting on it.”

Do you see Jesus revealed?

The Book of Revelation is partly Jesus revealing Himself to the world. Our devotion of this scripture for Walk to Emmaus #73 is for the pilgrims, the WTE #73 team and WTE community to be encouraged in their faith and patience, and excited to constancy and perseverance. During such time, we pray that people draw closer to Jesus in such a way to discern understanding and admission of what is next for them in their lives. The Book of Revelation (like the entire Bible) points us to Christ. He is the Savior and Lord of all who trust in Him, and some day we will see Him face to face. Are you ready for that day? You can be, by repenting of your sin and giving your life by faith to Christ today. The Walk to Emmaus provides us all – starting with the pilgrims – an opportunity to grow in our faith, express love, compassion, courage and for Jesus to reveal Himself to us, and reveal His plans for us.

We invite the WTE Community to join with us through deeds of invitation (by enrolling friends and family to join the WTE #73 and WTE #74 pilgrimages at Tao Fung Shan in Shatin) and through acts of agape and prayer by participating in the many activities surrounding and supporting the walks. To join the Agape Team in part or in full, or send agape gestures of food and gifts, please email WTE #73 Agape Chair Patrick Kaye at patrick@kaye.hk

If you have a pilgrim you wish to sponsor for the upcoming walks, have them complete the online registration form we are piloting here.

Please remember the Pre-Walk Community Gathering on Thursday, 12 October at CCHK 6:00pm – 9:45pm. Click here for more information.
